Let’s be honest, most people are terrified of spiders.
I mean really, really terrified.
If you have an araneae problem in your home you can call a professional pest control company or face your fears. If you decide on the latter, here are the most popular ways to tackle the bug of your nightmares.
Fire
One of the most popular ways to take on spiders (according to the internet) is with fire.
(No matter how cool it looks, we cannot recommend this method.)
Hairspray
Another common method is to douse the spider with hairspray. The spider will be immobilized and the chemicals will typically do the trick. The only downside is you run the risk of giving the spider a phenomenal hair day.
The ol’ Spider-Under-a-Cup trick
We’ve all done it. You need to lock that spider down to a certain location, but definitely don’t want to touch it until someone less important than you comes along to do the actual dirty work. Here’s hoping your roommate is really brave.
Feet of Fury
If you happen to have a pair of sturdy hiking boots handy, pull ’em on and get to stomping! If a spider happens to be at foot level, and you’ve had a particularly bad day, this is a great way to kill two birds with one stone (or one spider with two feet).
Let your awesome cat take care of it
Let’s be real, cats are fearless and majestic beasts when it comes to the killing of household pests. Unless you’re positive that the spider is venomous, let your catsassin work its feline magic on that pest!
